BBC One premiered the long-awaited The Celebrity Traitors, and the game didn’t wait too long to start.
Claudia Winkleman greeted the celebrity players at a graveyard where each grave had the name of a contestant.
“We’re starting as we mean to go on — surrounded by death,” Winkleman told the celebrity players.

Although no traitors had been selected, Winkleman told them each player had the opportunity to save themselves from tonight’s murder. Each celebrity had to dig into their grave to find a shield that would protect them from being murdered in the game.
The six celebrities who were able to get a shield and would be protected were Jonathan Ross, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Kate Garraway, Charlotte Church, and Celia Imrie.

Who did Claudia Winkleman choose as the Traitors?
After putting on a blindfold, Winkleman would choose which celebrities would be the Traitors and banish their fellow players, choosing Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr.
The traitors would not murder on the first night, allowing the celebrity players to sleep soundly for at least one night.

The cast of the first season of Celebrity Traitors UK are Alan Carr, Cat Burns, Celia Imrie, Charlotte Church, Clare Balding, David Olusoga, Joe Marler, Joe Wilkinson, Jonathan Ross, Kate Garraway, Lucy Beaumont, Mark Bonnar, Nick Mohammed, Niko Omilana, Paloma Faith, Ruth Codd, Stephen Fry, Tameka Empson, and Tom Daley.
The Traitors is a psychological game of treachery and deceit taking place at an ancient castle set deep in the Scottish Highlands. Contestants work together on a series of missions to build a prize fund. However, hidden amongst the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful and claim the prize for themselves.
Under the cover of darkness, the Traitors murder the Faithful one by one in a treacherous spree, while the Faithful try to uncover the Traitors and banish them from the game. If the Faithful contestants banish all the Traitors, they will share the prize fund, but if a Traitor (or Traitors) makes it to the end, they will steal all the money.
Who did the Traitors murder first?
For the first murder, the Traitors would have to murder in plain sight. They would have to find the poisonous black lily, rub their hands with the poisonous pollen and touch someones face before the night is over.
