Gene Simmons is recovering after getting into a car accident.
NBC4 LA reported that the 76-year-old KISS band member was driving a Lincoln Navigator on Tuesday, October 7, when he “crashed into a parked car” at 1 p.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
A witness reportedly dialed 911, prompting authorities to respond to the scene, and the musician was subsequently hospitalized.
The bassist allegedly told authorities that he either passed out or fainted before he hit the other vehicle, according to the outlet.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer’s wife, Shannon Tweed, relayed the same story, telling NBC4 LA that Simmons passed out and that his car careened through multiple lanes of traffic.

Tweed explained that Simmons — who is now recuperating at home — is supposed to drink more water, as his doctors have recently adjusted his medications.
The “Forever” singer himself left a voicemail message for the outlet, assuring that he is okay.
In 2023, Simmons worried fans as he had to take a break onstage while performing in Brazil, but he later explained via an X post that his lack of hydration was to blame.
“Hey everybody, thanks for the good wishes. I’m fine. Yesterday at Manaus Stadium in Brazil, experienced weakness because of dehydration,” he penned. “We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water, and then all was well. Nothing serious. Tomorrow, Bogota Stadium. See you there!”
