Kicking off on Thursday 9 October in Montréal, Canada, the opening stop of the 2025–26 World Tour marks the start of a new season of fast-paced racing, world-class rivalries, and thrilling team performances. This is the first of two consecutive weekends of competition at Montréal’s Maurice-Richard Arena – giving the British squad a real opportunity to make an impact early in the season.

Back by Popular Demand

After a smash-hit debut last season, the World Tour format is back and bigger than ever. Replacing the traditional World Cup, the new format delivers standalone, high-energy events designed to make short track more exciting and spectator-friendly.

Every race counts. Every round matters. There are no second chances – just pure racing for medals and pride. The format has proved popular with fans and skaters alike, offering more thrilling action and a fresh chance for every team to shine at each stop.

Welcome to the Kingdom – Meet the British Royals

The British Royals travel to Montréal with a tight-knit team of athletes ready to take on the world. Building on strong performances last season, the squad is made up of experienced returners and rising talent – all working together as a unit under the guidance of Richard Shoebridge.

Women’s Line-up

This year’s team is more than just a group of individuals. Competing as the British Royals, the skaters bring a strong team identity, supporting each other on and off the ice and showcasing the strength of the GB Short Track programme.

They’re joined in Montréal by support staff Nabil Shah, and British Ice Skating Head of Performance, Jon Eley, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes as the athletes focus on performance.

One Team, One Goal

The World Tour is more than a chance for individual glory – it’s a chance for the British Royals to show what they can do as a collective. Whether it’s through precise team tactics in the relays or the energy of the squad cheering from the boards, the unity of this group is one of its greatest strengths.

With the return of Niall Treacy, the continued development of athletes like Theo Collins, and exciting opportunities for newer names like Annabelle Green, this season is shaping up to be a defining one for the British team.

Why It Matters

These World Tour events aren’t just about medals – they’re crucial Olympic Qualification events on the road to Milano Cortina 2026. Every performance, every ranking point, and every breakthrough moment counts as nations work to secure their places at the upcoming Winter Olympic Games.

For the British Royals, the season ahead is about momentum, team development, and making their mark on the world stage — with one eye firmly on Italy in 2026.
