Legendary KISS rocker Gene Simmons was hospitalized in Malibu on Tuesday after he reportedly passed out behind the wheel of his car and crashed along the Pacific Coast Highway.
The good news is that the 76 year old is “recovering at home,” according to People Magazine.
NBC4 Los Angeles reported that Simmons told deputies that he either passed out or fainted before he hit a parked car.
“Gene is fine and back to work already,” a rep for the singer told People.
The outlet reported that the incident occurred in the 2500 block of Pacific Coast Highway just before 1 p.m. Simmons was reportedly taken to the hospital by LA County Fire.
NBC4 reported that Simmons’ SUV “careened across several lanes of traffic” before hitting the parked car.
Simmons wife told NBC4 that the singer is home and recovering. She also said his doctors had recently changed his medication.
People noted that this comes as KISS is preparing to perform together again for the first time since its retirement tour back in 2023. They are slated to perform in Las Vegas on November 14-16 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
The group is slated to play “unmasked” and the event is also scheduled to feature “exclusive Q&A sessions with members of the band, a panel with longtime manager Doc McGhee, a special live performance from former KISS member Bruce Kulick, along with sets from KISS tribute bands, other special guests, interactive activities, exclusive experiences and more,” per People.
