A Minecraft Movie is leveling up to another big-screen adventure.
Warner Bros. announced Thursday, Oct. 9, that a sequel is in the works, due in theaters in July 2027. On Instagram, the studio teased: “Building terrain. See you in theaters July 23 2027. #Minecraft.”
After hitting theaters in April 2025, A Minecraft Movie, based on the popular video game franchise, went viral online and became a box office hit, earning close to $1 billion with an estimated $957 million.
The cast included Jack Black, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge, Danielle Brooks, Emma Myers and more.
A Minecraft Movie is currently streaming on HBO Max.
