Ice Nine Kills have released a two-part short film for “The Last Laugh,” a new single based on Tim Burton‘s Batman.
The horror-inspired metalcore act is comprised of vocalist Spencer Charnas, guitarists Dan Sugarman and Ricky Armellino, bassist Joe Occhiuti, and drummer Mike Cortada.
The band members star in the video alongside Matthew Lillard (Scream), Phil Morris (“Seinfeld”), and Terry Kiser (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood).
“‘The Laugh Track’ is our homage to Tim Burton’s dark and gorgeous gothic Gotham. Batman ’89 took its comic book material seriously, but it was far from grounded and never forgot to have fun. It’s the same tightrope we walk in Ice Nine Kills, with broad, maniacal smiles,” Charnas comments. “Like Prince before us, ‘The Laugh Track’ will have you dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight.”
The latest installment in the INK cinematic universe is directed by frequent collaborator Jensen Noen and features special effects makeup designed by Christopher Nelson (Halloween, Suicide Squad).
In addition to the single, Ice Nine Kills have teamed with Lillard’s Macabre Spirits to release Horrorwood Reserve, a premium bourbon whiskey made from bloody butcher corn.
Priced at $129.99, 750-mL bottles of the 84-proof spirit come with 10 cocktail recipes and an INK brass skull stopper.
“The Last Laugh” is now available on all streaming platforms via Fearless Records.
