Jess Moskaluke concert headlines this weekend’s five things to do in Regina (Oct. 10-12)

Jess Moskaluke’s latest cross-Canada tour has entered familiar territory.

The Saskatchewan-born country singer is in the midst of a 35-date headlining tour that commenced last month in B.C. and rolls through the Casino Regina Show Lounge on Saturday night, where Moskaluke has performed on multiple occasions.

Regina is one of eight Saskatchewan stops, including two sold-out shows in her hometown of Langenburg, before continuing eastward through Manitoba, Ontario and the Maritimes.

1. Life For Me Tour

Moskaluke, joined by special guest Mitch Zorn, is one of the biggest stars on the Saskatchewan music scene. She’s won multiple Canadian Country Music Awards, including female artist of the year (three times), while also picking up a Juno for country album of the year (Kiss Me Quiet).

Moskaluke is the first homegrown female country artist since Shania Twain to achieve Canadian platinum single status (Cheap Wine and Cigarettes). She also earned Canadian gold certifications for Take Me Home, Kiss Me Quiet, Knock Off, and her first No. 1 hit, Country Girls.

2. Cardinal in concert

Award-winning Canadian folk singer Celeigh Cardinal is bringing her “magnetic presence” to Darke Hall on Saturday night.

Cardinal is best known for her album Stories from a Downtown Apartment, which won a 2020 Juno for Indigenous music album of the year, plus two Western Canadian Music Awards for songwriter of the year and Indigenous artist of the year.

She “captivates” audiences with her “rich, soulful voice,” says an online preview. “Weaving emotion into every note, she brings healing and connection through song. A shining star in Canada’s music scene, she continues to inspire and uplift with her powerful storytelling.”

3. Cream of the Crop

The craft and trade show runs Friday (4 p.m.-8 p.m.) and Saturday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) at the Conexus Arts Centre, offering a wide range of items from local artisans and small businesses, plus a variety of workshops.

The show is described as “more than just a shopping experience; it’s a celebration of local talent, creativity, and entrepreneurship,” says a news release. “This event is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates unique handmade products and supports local entrepreneurship. 4. Regina Rock N’ Gem Show

The three-day event takes place Friday (10 a.m.-8 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m.-8 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m.-5 p.m.), bringing “a world of natural wonder” to the International Trade Centre in REAL District.

It includes crystals, fossils, gemstones, mineral specimens, Canadian-mined pieces and handcrafted jewelry, beads, décor, tools, metaphysical items, etc.

The show features “treasures from every corner of the globe — plus exclusive Canadian finds you won’t see anywhere else,” says an online preview. “Whether you’re looking to add to your collection or just want a weekend of discovery, the Regina Rock N’ Gem Show is your destination for everything dazzling.”

5. Outdoor farmers’ market finale

The Regina Farmers’ Market is hosting its final outdoor event of the season on Saturday (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at Confederation Park in REAL District.

The market, featuring a variety of local vendors and products, is scheduled to move indoors at REAL’s Banner Hall starting Oct. 18.
