Today fans, it looks like Savannah Guthrie is adding a bit of game show TV to her résumé.
Fans know the TV host for her working in daytime television, and she’s done so for over a decade. But Savannah is actually taking her love of playing the game Wordle to after work hours, as The Hollywood Reporter announced her latest venture on October 7.
According to the outlet, a new game show based on the hit New York Times pastime is in the works at NBC. With Jimmy Fallon on board as an executive producer (by way of his own Electric Hot Dog production company), the publication also revealed how Savannah would be involved. Turns out, she’s in talks to become the show’s official host, should the project move forward and get greenlit from the network.
Now, for those who aren’t familiar with Wordle, the game has players guessing a five-letter word in six tries. What’s more, the game also allows users to see if the letters they chose were correct (using green blocks), part of the word (using yellow blocks) or incorrect (using grey blocks).
Savannah has been open about her love of Wordle on the Today show. Back in March, she went behind the scenes at the New York Times to learn about what it takes to write all the different puzzles seen on the publication’s official app. And judging from her excitement, she’s definitely the perfect person to pursue a project like this!
