‘Narnia’ tickets

Tickets are on sale for CYT Baton Rouge’s production of the musical, “Narnia,” opening Oct. 23, at Abundant Life Church, 206 Edgewood Drive.

Animals in Art

The 31st annual International Exhibition on Animals in Arts runs through Oct. 31, at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, Skip Bertman Drive, LSU campus. The exhibit will be on display from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Admission is free.

‘Fright Night’ concert

Tickets are on sale for the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra’s “Family Fright Night: A Concert in the Cosmos Featuring Halloween Favorites” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29-30 in the Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s Pennington Planetarium, 100 S. River Road, Baton Rouge.

Textile & Costume Museum

The LSU Textile & Costume Museum, Human Ecology Building, 330 Tower Drive, LSU campus, is showing “Dressing Louisiana: Histoires de la mode de la Louisiane” through March 5.

This exhibition celebrates the myriad ways in which the people of Louisiana created and utilized fashion as a tool in the formation of identity and in the celebration of life’s joy and beauty. Included in the exhibit are the works of Louisiana artists and designers Ray Cole and Geoffrey Beene, a selection of first lady gowns (including the recently acquired inaugural gown of first lady of Louisiana Sharon Landry), garments worn by Donna Douglas, Mardi Gras ensembles and accessories and more.

In West Baton Rouge

The West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, is showing the exhibits “An American War in Vietnam” through Dec. 30; “Weaving Nature: Louisiana’s Native American Basketry” through Dec. 28; and “Angela Gregory: The Allen Monument” through July 19.

At the Old State Capitol

Louisiana’s Old State Capitol is showing the exhibit “Vietnam Experience: 50th Anniversary of the End of the War” through Dec. 20.

UL Symphony

The UL Lafayette Symphony will presents its annual Halloween Concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 30, in Angelle Hall Auditorium on campus in Lafayette.

Orchestra members will be wearing costumes, and the audience is encouraged to show up in their favorite Halloween costumes.

Admission is $10 for adults and children and can be purchased only at the concert. Tickets will go on sale at 6 p.m. the night of the show.

Readers Theatre

Tickets are on sale for the third play in Cité des Arts’ Readers Theater Series, focusing on plays from the classical theater. The third play will be a reading of “Pericles, Prince of Tyre” by George Wilkins and William Shakespeare — directed by Joe Riehl at 7 p.m. Oct. 16, at Cité des Arts, 109 Vine St., Lafayette.

In Hammond

Events surrounding music, theatre and a movie screening are scheduled during the upcoming week of the 40th season of Fanfare, Southeastern Louisiana University’s annual fall festival of the arts, humanities and social sciences.

  • Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. the Southeastern Jazz Ensemble will perform the free concert, “Classics with a Twist,” in Pottle Music Building Recital Hall.
  • Oct. 16, at 8:30 p.m., the Southeastern Gospel Choir will perform the free concert, “Late Night Shift Homecoming Concert,” in Pottle Auditorium.
  • A special theater presentation titled “The Graveyard Girls” is scheduled Oct. 17–19 with start times of 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Hammond. Tickets are $15-$25 at the box office.
  • Columbia Theatre also will present a screening on Oct. 18, at 9 p.m. of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Tickets are $25 for VIP, $20 adults and students, and are available at the Columbia Theatre box office.

At NuNu

NuNu, 1510 Courtableau Highway, Arnaudville, will host Reece Sullivan in concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is $25, and complementary drinks and beans and rice will be available. Visit events.humanitix.com/nunu102225.
