A Massachusetts resident won “Jeopardy!” on Thursday and will return to defend his title.
Spencer Janes, a program manager from Longmeadow, competed on the show’s Thursday episode where he faced off against newcomer Grace Batiste and returning champion TJ Fisher, who was on a five-game win streak.
Janes took home the biggest prize of $29,000 after correctly answering the night’s “Final Jeopardy” question.
The clue for the last question was, “passing on in 2025, Aliza Magen, who helped track down terrorists in the 1972 Munich attack, became this agency’s top-ranking woman.”
Janes and Batiste both answered correctly with “What is Mossad?” That netted them first and second place, respectively.
As champion, Janes will return to “Jeopardy!” on Friday’s episode, which will air on local television stations across New England at 7:30 p.m. To find out where you can watch, check the “Jeopardy!” website.
Episodes can be streamed the day after airing on Hulu and Peacock, according to the celebrity.land.
