Ryan Reynolds is keeping his sense of humor when it comes to parenting.
The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, appeared on the Thursday, October 9 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he opened up about life at home with his and Blake Lively’s son, Olin, 2, whom they welcomed in 2023.
“There’s nothing violent in our home. There’s nothing creepy,” Reynolds said. “[But Olin] came out with three things on his mind: It was violence, breasts and engines.”
Reynolds joked that if Olin had been born before his older sisters — James, 10, Inez, 9, and Betty, 6 — he might have made a different decision about family planning.
“If I had like three boys at first, I would never— There’s no way. I would give myself a punching vasectomy,” he quipped. “Like, there’s no way I would allow that to happen.”

The actor explained that parenting three girls had been “so easy” compared to the chaotic energy of a little boy who “has to break everything.” When host Seth Meyers asked whether his daughters considered Olin’s arrival an “HR issue,” Reynolds replied, “I do,” before joking: “I’m, like, in direct competition with this young man.”
Lively previously called Olin “romantic” during a March sit-down with Meyers. “When I walk in, he goes, ‘Mama, my love!’” she said. “He just, like, announces that I’m the love of his life at all times, which is just the best feeling in the world.”
