Twitch streamer and record producer PlaqueBoyMax revealed last month that he was hospitalized for an undisclosed health condition, and now he’s explained why he needed medical treatment and took a break from streaming.
In a recent Twitch stream, his first in around three weeks, PlaqueBoyMax directly addressed his absence from streaming. He said that initially, doctors believed he had dislocated his shoulder, but he later learned that he had an infection. After a while, it was discovered that Max, who could “barely walk” during the worst of it, was struggling with an infection because he hadn’t taken proper care of his latest tattoos.
“I guess that I wasn’t taking care of my tattoo. It got super badly infected or some bullshit, which is crazy,” said Max, who added that he would still get more tattoos even if the whole situation was a bit of a “wake-up call” for him. “Be careful when y’all get tattoos. Make sure y’all take care of y’all skin, because the s**t will f**k up, bro. You could get an infection, and you don’t want to get an infection. That s**t is not fun. I didn’t even know that was possible.”
The stream was done from a hospital room-like setting, and he cautioned viewers that he’ll need to stay in the hospital for a bit longer as he recovers. But he’s already feeling a lot better and had demonstrated that he can lift his arm higher than when he was struggling with the infection.
Last month, Max surprised his viewers when he shared a video from a hospital bed, thanking his fans for their support while he recovered in the hospital. “It’s PlaqueBoy. Advice of the day? Be grateful for everything you have because you’ll never know when you won’t have it anymore, bro, no cap, I love y’all,” he said in the video, shared on social media. He didn’t offer much more information at the time, but streamer Tylil told Kai Cenat that Max was hospitalized after he woke up one day with severe shoulder pain and began vomiting.
“I literally seen Max, and Max said he was sleeping. Max said he was sleeping, and he just woke, and the s**t was just hurting. He was also at the hospital. I feel bad. He looked really, really sick,” said Tylil. “He just started throwing up his shit, he’s like, ‘I’ve been struggling, too.’ We’re both here in the same hospital. No, no, but Kai, Max’s whole right side, he can’t move.”
