Alyson Hannigan is living her real-life love story. The American Pie star gave fans a glimpse of her life as she celebrated love and family.
In a recent Instagram post, the 51-year-old marked her 22nd wedding anniversary with Alexis Denisof.
The touching post featured a family photo with her two look-alike daughters taken during a vacation.
“Happy Anniversary, my love! I can’t remember what life was like before you, and I don’t need to. Best 22 years (plus the 4 before marriage) of my life!” she wrote.
The sweet anniversary post sparked adorable reactions from fans who flooded the comments with congratulatory messages.
“Congratulations! Beautiful couple on the inside and out,” one wrote.
“Happy anniversary, Sandy Rivers and Lily,” a follower added, referring to the duo’s TV show characters.
“Happy Anniversary to you both! Such a gorgeous couple with a beautiful family,” another chimed in.
“Happy anniversary to Wesley and Willow,” a commenter said, in a nod to the pair’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer roles.
On the other hand, some poked fun and mentioned Hannigan’s How I Met Your Mother co-star Jason Segel, who played Marshall Eriksen.
“Poor Marshmellow. He must be heartbroken,” a user joked.
“But but what about Marshall?” one fan teased.
At the height of her career, Hannigan met her now-husband on the set of the hit ’90s TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she played the role of a witch named Willow.
As for Denisof, he portrayed the character Wesley Wyndam-Price, a former Watcher and a member of Angel Investigations.
Besides the Sarah Michelle Gellar-led TV show, the pair also appeared in How I Met Your Mother, where she took on the lead character of preschool teacher Lily Aldrin and played opposite Robin Scherbatsky’s co-anchor at Metro News One, Sandy Rivers.
After two years of dating, the Angel star popped the question and the couple officially tied the knot on October 11, 2003 in California.
The pair welcomed their first child, Satyana Marie Denisof, in 2009 followed by their daughter Keeva Jane Denisof in 2012.
In a previous interview with People, Hannigan praised her husband for being an “amazing father” to their kids.
As they marked their 10-year wedding anniversary, the couple renewed their vows in 2013.
Denisof even re-proposed to his wife with a new diamond ring.
“My hubby @AlexisDenisof surprised me with the most romantic day of my life yesterday! Which included another proposal & ring! I said YES!,” she shared on X.
At the time, the actress shared how happy she was that their daughters got to witness the special moment.
