Swifties have been speculating for a while that Taylor Swift would release an “Eras Tour” documentary, and it turns out they were right.
The superstar singer confirmed the good news on social media and “Good Morning America” today, Oct. 13. She will be releasing an “Eras Tour” six-part docuseries this December.
Swifties already know that 13 is a very special Taylor Swift number, so that is the first Easter egg of many.
The series is set to drop on Dec. 12 on Disney+ and Hulu with the first two episodes, and then two episodes will drop each week after that. In total, it will be six episodes. Releasing on 12/12 is another little Easter egg nod, most likely celebrating the release of her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

In addition to the six-part docuseries titled “Taylor Swift| The Eras Tour | The End of an Era,” she will also be dropping a “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show” film, featuring “The Tortured Poets Department” section of her record-breaking tour.
“It was the end of an era and we knew it,” Swift posted on X. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.”
In the series, fans will recognize a number of her famous friends, as well as “Eras Tour” guest performers, including Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch.
This is not the first time Swift has released some sort of film with the streaming giant.
In 2020, she released to Disney+ her “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions” and in 2023 the “Eras Tour” concert movie, which became the highest-grossing concert film opening weekend in theaters of all time.
Fans knew this documentary series was a long time coming, especially when Swifties noticed cameras at a number of “Eras Tour” dates around Europe and Vancouver, so this speculation is a win for the Swifties.
Plus, with this documentary dropping on 12/12, there may be more surprises up Taylor Swift’s sleeve.
Disney+ is raising its rates in October, so if you’re not already signed up for a membership, you’ll want to do that now before the price hike. You can get the Disney+, Hulu & ESPN bundle for $6 off per month when you sign up for 12 months.
