It’s time for a new season of NCIS — and once again, Wilmer Valderrama is telling all.
In the video above, TVLine’s Claire Franken catches up with Valderrama ahead of Tuesday’s Season 23 premiere (8/7c, CBS), and the actor is more than happy to drop lots of hints, teasing that one “massive” scene in particular “is going to set the fans on fire” (!). He doesn’t want to spoil too much about it, but he promises that “the speculation’s going to drive everyone crazy.”

The fans are already on fire, though, about a scene in the Season 23 trailer that seems to imply there might be romance in the air for Valderrama’s character Nick Torres and Katrina Law’s Jessica Knight — even though she dated Jimmy and Torres dated her sister Robin. “It’s a little complicated,” Valderrama admits with a laugh. “It’s a little messy,” but “there is something happening underneath,” he says, and “we’re having a lot of fun with really exploring the humanity of these characters, and the working place drama is always delicious to watch, so we’ll see how far we go.”
Valderrama also notes that every episode this season is “intentionally stitched together for an arc,” so fans should “definitely read into everything… even the smallest little scenes.” Plus, he lets it slip that some “familiar faces” will be dropping by the show this season, and they’re not just there to make a cameo. The returning characters are “instrumental for what we’re planning for this season,” he says. “They’re going to serve as something bigger.”
