The Band Perry is — once again — about to look a little bit different as Reid Perry has just announced he is separating from the band.
The sibling singer and talented bassist, who served as one of the original members of the award-winning country music trio, revealed the surprising news on Monday, October 13, in a post on Instagram, sharing a black and white photo of himself onstage with his back facing the camera and feeding off the energy of a huge crowd.
In his caption, Reid, 36, directed his attention toward the fans before disclosing his reasons for parting ways with the beloved family band. He said, “To the fans, you’ve always been my favorite part of this. I’ve decided to leave TBP (The Band Perry).”

“I’ll be missing seeing you in the crowd at a Band Perry show, but I’ll be around, managing a new voice I believe in more than anything, Ryan Coleman,” he added, sharing his reason for exiting the group, revealing that he will now pursue artist management, lending his expertise to Coleman, a rising country artist, who previously appeared on Season 25 of NBC’s The Voice.
“For me, it was and will always be about making great country music, with and for the hardworking people who love it and live it,” Perry noted before closing out his message and wishing his sister, Kimberly Perry, who fronts TBP, the best of luck. “Thank you for every memory. I’ll see you back in the saddle. I wish Kimberly and TBP the best as they move forward into the future.”

Kimberly, 42, also took a moment to respond to her brother’s post in the comments section below. She wrote, “Reid! Wishing you the most wonderful successes in your new era! Love you, brother!”
Fans and followers also chimed in with their own messages, with one person writing, “Thank you for all that you’ve done for TBP. I love you and wish you all the best in your new journey.”
“Will miss you as part of TBP. It won’t be the same without you, but I will keep following your career and wishing you all the best,” another fan commented, while a third person wrote, “This breaks my heart, but best of luck to you.”
Kimberly Perry Is the Sole Original Member Left in the Band Perry
Reid is the second artist to step away from The Band Perry, following in the footsteps of his brother, 35-year-old Neil Perry, who left in 2024 to forge a solo career path. Kimberly’s husband, Johnny Costello, has since served as Neil’s replacement. At this point, it is unclear who will take up Reid’s slot in the trio.
The Band Perry formed in 2005 and broke into the country music scene with their 2010 breakout hit, “If I Die Young.” They subsequently released chart-topping hits like “Better Dig Two” and “You Lie” and went on to earn top honors at the Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMA Awards. The trio has also scored a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Gentle on My Mind.” In 2016, the band shifted gears away from the country genre to explore more pop leanings before taking a break in 2023.
In 2025, The Band Perry found itself returning to its country roots with Costello in the fold. However, it is uncertain what the future of the band looks like with Reid’s newfound exit.
