Hailey and Justin Bieber have given fans regular glimpses into their lives with their 1-year-old son, Jack Blues Bieber, over the past year. But there’s one boundary they’ve set that they won’t be changing anytime soon: keeping his face hidden.
Hailey spoke to WSJ Magazine about why the couple is so careful about where they take Jack and the kinds of photos they post of him on social media. “Until your child can understand it and it’s possible to have conversation around it, I have no interest in putting him out there in any way,” she said bluntly.
Motherhood has made her much more protective of herself as well: “I like who I am so much more now than I did before I had my son,” she said. “You gain this silent strength and confidence. You can’t tell me the same shit that you could tell me before. You’re not fucking with me after I pushed a human out of my body.”
According to the outlet, Hailey now spends more of her time at home with her son and often enjoys swimming with Jack during her downtime. “I feel like time has just become so precious,” she said. “Having kids makes you realize that.”
The model also addressed how she’s approaching her company Rhode’s $1 billion acquisition by e.l.f. Beauty and the money she is receiving from it.
“I want to preserve that for my son’s future,” she said. “It’s an amount of money that I have not dealt with before, so I just want to be smart with it. I would like to invest it wisely.”
Hailey spoke about Justin briefly in her interview, saying that the couple’s success in beauty and music hasn’t stopped people from speculating about their relationship. “But we’re both really finding our voices of who we are and, I believe, both really walking authentically in what it is we actually want to be doing,” she added.
Justin recently shared photos of the couple kissing on vacation together. Hailey, meanwhile, posted new shots of their son at the start of the month.
