The show follows Cameron Cope (played by 13 Reasons Why’s Miles Heizer), a closeted and aimless teen who joins the Marines alongside his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), the son of a decorated officer. What follows is an emotional and sometimes hilarious journey through boot camp, as a group of misfit recruits bond, break and figure out who they really are under pressure.
Since its October 9 debut, Boots has earned a 92 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and glowing praise from critics and fans alike. USA Today called it “one of the best new series Netflix has produced in years,” while Us Weekly gushed that it’s “one of my favorite 2025 shows.”
