Keith Urban has been forced to drop out of his upcoming headlining show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C. The country artist was scheduled to perform the concert on Thursday, Oct. 16, as part of his 2025 High and Alive World Tour, but given the doctor’s orders, he has been “placed on complete vocal rest” and is unable to take the stage due to illness at this time.

The official Facebook page of the Bon Secours Wellness Arena released a statement on Wednesday, Oct. 15, telling folks that Urban has been battling “laryngitis, which began earlier this week.”

Keith Urban Is Expected to Recover Fully In Time For His Nashville Performance

“Keith Urban has been advised by his longtime laryngologist, Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, from the Vanderbilt Voice Center, to cancel his performance in Greenville, SC tomorrow night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena due to laryngitis which began earlier this week,” the statement reads alongside a promotional tour poster featuring Urban’s shadow as he plays guitar amid a sunset backdrop. “He has been placed on complete vocal rest and Dr. Garrett is optimistic that he will be back onstage for his Nashville show.”

Urban’s Nashville concert is set to take place on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Bridgestone Arena, which means his doctor anticipates a smooth and swift recovery over the next two days.

Keith Urban Released a Statement to His Fans

The four-time Grammy winner and country superstar, 57, who recently separated from Nicole Kidman, had not shared a post on his official social media pages regarding the canceled show, but he did release a statement to his fans telling them that he hopes to return to Greenville soon.

“Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show…I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days, and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU, for granted,” Urban shared. “I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”

In addition to announcing his concert cancellation, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena provided some direction for ticketholders of the Greenville show on where they can expect a refund.

“If you purchased tickets through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically; there is nothing further ticket holders need to do,” the statement on the arena’s Facebook page reads. “If you purchased from a third-party reseller, please reach out to your point of purchase.

Urban’s High & Alive World Tour kicked off on May 22 in Orange Beach, Ala. The trek, which featured supporting acts Chase Matthew, Alana Springsteen, and Karley Scott Collins on select dates, is set to conclude on Thursday, Oct. 17, with Nashville marking its final stop.

“Playing live is what I live to do,” Urban said of touring in a press release.  “Looking out from a stage and seeing people singing, forgetting about all the stress in their lives, cutting loose, and feeling ALIVE – that’s what it’s about for me. Lots of hits, new songs, things we won’t even think about until we’re onstage – and loads of guitar.  We’re gonna make this tour the best night of your life!”

Although Urban’s tour is coming to a close, fans can look for him on TV as he is set to serve as a host and a mentor on the highly anticipated music competition series The Road, premiering on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
