Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025 arrived in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and it brought the most diverse show in the fashion brand’s history.
When the show kicked off with some of the most famous supermodels taking to the runway in show-stopping looks, it did not disappoint. It didn’t just celebrate the brand’s newest looks. It also promoted inclusivity.
There was racial representation from the models to the performers, while showing off all body types.
While pros Gigi Hadid, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Irina Shayk stunned onlookers, Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and Olympian Suni Lee graced the runway.
Meanwhile, live performances were also culturally diverse as Missy Elliott, Karol G, Madison Beer, and K-pop group TWICE, took to the runway for some awesome performances.
The crowd went wild when TWICE hit the stage, marking their debut as the first K-pop act to perform at the show. “It’s a dream to be here,” the band said backstage.
The musical acts reflected the inclusivity of the show, which drew criticism back in 2019 due to its non-inclusivity.
Joining supermodels like Gigi Hadid, Stella Maxwell, Barbara Palvin, Candice Swanepoel, and Adriana Lima, was television personality, body positivity activist, and model Ashley Graham, known for championing body diversity in fashion.
In a historic moment, Reese became the first professional athlete to wear the classic Angel wings making yet another powerful statement for inclusivity.
The 23-year-old announced the news Thursday. “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL,” Reese wrote. “I’m finally getting my wings I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on, heels ready…Catch me on the runway.”

Another first for the event saw Brazilian influencer Rafa Kalimann donning a low-cut black dress with a shimmering pink lining and hip-high leg slit while showing off her baby bump.
Last year, the Angels returned to the runway after a six year hiatus with a more diverse roster that included plus-size and transgender models.
In a promo video on Instagram, the lingerie and apparel brand’s new executive creative director, Adam Selman, described the show as a “spectacle.”
Additionally, Barbie Ferriera graced the stage.
“That was just not in my head at all to walk a runway, period, especially the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which is the biggest show,” she said told People of being chosen. “I just remember being like, ‘What?’ It took me a minute to process what that meant, because I just was not expecting that at all. And then I got so excited.”
She added, “I called my mom, who’s Brazilian, and could not be more excited.”
Viewers at home seemed to accept the new changes after the backlash, with one person writing on X, formerly Twitter, “Say what you want but this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was d— good…”
“The old glamour is back with a modern twist. The girls, and ouuuu the diversity was definitely was in the room with us, the walks, the music, the performances, everything was great,” they continued.
Another added, “I love how the Victoria’s Secret fashion show has finally embraced diversity and all body types but still draw the line at terrible lip syncing for the singers.”
The runway show became a classic in the 2000s, but by the late 2010s, the brand and the show faced criticism from customers amid the Me Too movement.
The movement’s popularity soared, resulting in the lowest viewership in history for the runway show in 2018.
The fashion show was cancelled for years while the brand began including more body-positive messaging and models in its campaigns. Then, Victoria’s Secret announced the return of the fashion show in May 2024.
“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” Victoria’s Secret wrote in an Instagram post. “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love — the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more! Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”
