According to ComicBook.com, famed animator Vincent Chansard has made his opinion known about One Punch Man Season 3. While many have been quick to blame J.C.Staff, the studio behind the season, Chansard says that a lot of the blame might be on the production company. This is most definitely true when it comes to the rushed and illogical production of One Punch Man season 3. The anime was in desperate need of a victory after the mediocre reception towards season 2, but that would never come. In a livestream with KOL: Requiem Chansard said this:
“People are quick to blame J.C.Staff, but often it’s not the studio to blame, it’s the production committee,” Chansard said.
Chansard is most famous for his animation work on One Piece, Re: Zero, and My Hero Academia: Vigilante. He has made it a point to call out less-than-positive practices in the anime world and famously called out Studio Mappa for its rushed production pacing. Given Chansard’s authority and knowledge on the subject it’s likely that the production committee is truly the ones to blame.
Just like the previous season, the production of the third season has completely rushed. There were announcements about the series release dates before any trailers or promotional material had even been teased. Moreover, the third season comes after a six-year gap between seasons, which is relatively unheard of for a successful anime. Unfortunately, many people are still quick to blame J.C.Staff for this oversight.
The famed animator Vincent Chansard’s words hold true, but they have mostly fallen on deaf ears. When it comes to blaming someone for a subpar production, fans usually go after the studio. Hopefully, Chansard’s words will help turn people in the right direction. After all, if more people start blaming the right individuals, there might actually be a significant change.
