Thursday evening was a night full of laughter in downtown Shreveport as comedians from all over the United States performed for the chance to win $2,500.
On October 16, eight comedians took the stage at the Remington Garage for Comedy Prize 2025. These comedians were vying for the chance to win $2,500 cash and an opportunity to connect with this year’s celebrity judges.
These celebrity judges include people who are running or part of prestigious comedy events. Charlie Sotelo, SXSW Comedy and celebrity judge, said, “To see comedians of such high caliber, at the top of their game in competition with each other… it makes it all worth it.”
Comedians included:
The winner of Comedy Prize was Peter Revello a Staten Island-born stand-up, actor and writer living in NYC.
Revello said, “Thank you to Prize Fest and all the other comics. This is really cool.”
Kalea McNeill was the host for Comedy Prize and is Prize alumni. She left audience laughing and anxious for the next comedian to take center stage.
Comedy Prize kicked off the second night of Prize Fest — a five-night festival in downtown Shreveport that celebrates film, food, comedy and music. Gregory Kallenberg, founder of the Louisiana Film Prize and Executive Director of the Prize Foundation, said Thursday evening, “The Mayor of Shreveport just changed the name of your city to PrizePort.”
