The first trailer has dropped for season two of Squid Game: The Challenge. The trailer promises to be the biggest and best thing to happen to the franchise since the original series and should bring in a large number of new fans. If the trailer is accurate, this should be an extremely entertaining season, absolutely full of drama. Just like many reality shows, alliances will be formed and broken in an attempt to win the large cash prize.
Several games for the increasingly interesting reality show have been teased. However, the main focus seemed to be on the contestants and their relationships. Like the dystopian show the game is based on, there exist both preexisting relationships. Nevertheless, both types of ties will be tested as they battle over the unprecedented amount of money.
Several fans might have originally questioned how some of the original competitions might have translated to an obviously non-lethal reality show. However, the adaptation performs this feat extremely well. Aside from removing the life-threatening versions of the competitions, they have kept most of the games mostly the same. Moreover, the games they have added fit in line with the overall theme of the franchise.
While there are no fan favorites yet, given the theme of the show, fans typically pick one fan and latch onto them for the entire season. Nevertheless, the trailer demonstrated many charismatic faces. Any one of the people within the trailer could end up becoming a fan favorite or the one who walks away with all the money.
In the end, the first trailer for Squid Game: The Challenge shows an extreme amount of promise. If the series can keep the same hype from the trailer, there is no way the reality show will not be an instant success. That said, fans will have to wait until November 4th to see if the season will actually live up to the hype.
