Princess Anne is reportedly “fed up” with her brother, Prince Andrew, according to a royal expert. On the heels of news that Andrew will be giving up his royal titles, author Christopher Andersen spoke to Us Weekly about how the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip feels.
“Anne has long sided with the King,” Andersen told the outlet. “She is as fed up with Andrew as Charles and William are,” he continued, adding, “Andrew bullied his little brother when they were younger, but they grew closer over the years. Still, Edward has no choice but to fully support Charles in his efforts to rid himself of the problematic Duke of York.”
Andersen’s comments come on the heels of Andrew making an announcement about his decision. He said that he had a “discussion with the king” and ultimately decided that “continued accusations…distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family,” according to BBC News. Andrew was referring to the ongoing accusations about his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein.
“I vigorously deny the accusations against me,” Andrew said, per the outlet. Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, will lose her Duchess of York title. The former couple’s two daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, will keep their princess titles.
There have been ongoing rumors that Princess Anne hasn’t been thrilled with how King Charles has been handling things with their brother. “This situation with Andrew and the Royal Lodge has somewhat divided the family,” a source told Woman’s Day Magazine (via the Mirror).
