A new rumor regarding Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars has emerged online.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday has wrapped production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, it arrives next year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, then follows in 2027.
What is the latest Avengers rumor?
According to scooper James Mack, Teyonah Parris, Lashana Lynch, Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, and another unnamed X-Men actor who will have a “surprise/special appearance” are going to film the continuation of the post-credit scene featured in 2023’s The Marvels at some point in the next few weeks.
This is only a rumor at this time and should be treated as such. While it’s likely that the post-credit scene of The Marvels will be expanded on in some way, there’s been no official announcement regarding a surprise X-Men character’s presence in either of the upcoming Avengers movies from Marvel. Furthermore, whether or not Lynch and Parris actually appear in Avengers: Doomsday is unclear at this time, as their names were not included in the initial casting announcement.

Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase 6 of the MCU. Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on December 17, 2027.
