Jenna Ortega brought her signature edgy vibe to the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, turning heads on the red carpet with another daring look.
While other stars arrived in vibrant ball gowns, sheer silhouettes and eye-catching ensembles, the 23-year-old chose a more unexpected path.
The Wednesday star stepped out in a sleek backless gown that perfectly captured her confident style.
For the red carpet, Ortega wore a striking creation by Grace Ling. The metallic leaf-petal gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer collection featured a sculpted silver top with an open back paired with a deep plum satin skirt that accentuated her elegant silhouette.
In a post shared by Variety, the former child star not only captured the public’s attention but also earned praise from social media users.
“Oh, she looks amazing!” one wrote.
“She NEVER misses,” a second user remarked.
“She IS art,” a commenter said.
“Totally a queen,” another added.
Fans also couldn’t help but notice her androgynous look, highlighted by smoky eyes and bleached brows.
“Serving face 24/7,” a follower noted.
“Face card never declines. Period,” echoed another user.
Ortega’s red carpet looks have long reflected her love for experimental and unconventional designs.
Besides her appearance at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, the actress has been acing red carpet fashion like a pro.
During the recently held 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September, she appeared in a barely-there look from Givenchy.
The colorful, bejeweled top was first seen on the 2025 runway of Sarah Burton’s debut collection for the French luxury brand and was paired with a custom high-slit black skirt that added a touch of drama to the look.
Another head-turning fashion moment from the Disney alum came during the global premiere of Wednesday Season 2.
Ortega’s outfit showcased a beige snakeskin-printed latex gown from Ashi Studio.
However, behind her out-of-this-world red carpet looks, she revealed that she prefers a minimalist style on a day-to-day basis.
“I’m pretty minimalistic,” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK, adding, “I think I like plain t-shirts, outfits, things like that and when it comes to beauty and makeup, I usually try to give my skin a break.”
According to her, since she’s constantly in full makeup and glam for events, she wanted to embrace a simpler look and go for natural beauty instead.
