Fran Drescher recently revealed that she cautioned television executives not to cancel the TV Land series Happily Divorced.

“It’s too bad that TV Land took ‘Happily Divorced’ off after only 36 episodes,” she told People magazine. “I did point it out to them, but they didn’t want to hear it. But ultimately, I was proved correct.”

“Two years later, I ran into one of the executives, and they said, ‘If it’s any consolation, that’s like the big regret at TV Land. That shouldn’t have been canceled. That shouldn’t have gone away. It was so good,'” she added.

Drescher portrayed the role of Fran Lovett, a recently florist who split from her husband of 18 years after he revealed that he was gay. The series aired for a total of 34 episodes from 2011 through 2013, according to IMDb. The show also starred John Michael Higgins, Rita Moreno, Tichina Arnold, and Valente Rodriguez.

Earlier this month, Drescher, who’s best known for her role as Fran Fine on The Nanny, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“The things you hear about Hollywood is all true. It’s the land of dreams, but staying grounded and authentic is imperative,” Drescher said at the event, according to Today. “Keeping old friends with you, close to you, and never forgetting where you came from is essential.”

“We are very imperfect beings, learning and growing along the way through all the pitfalls and mistakes made,” she continued. “To do it right, we must make kindness and compassion our compass.”
