Katie Couric, who has become an advocate for cancer screenings after her first husband’s death, is sharing her support for fellow Virginia natives and other Americans who participated in No Kings protests over the weekend.

The veteran news anchor, 68, is one of many who has been vocal with feelings about the Trump administration and things that have occurred since the start of his second term in January.

After previously speaking out on the situation that surrounded ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel in September, she is now lending her voice to the protests, which numbered over 2,000 total gatherings and saw millions turn out.

Taking to Instagram, Couric showed her support for those who spoke out, specifically mentioning many at the larger gatherings in bigger cities around the country.

“Scenes from today’s No Kings Day protests in New York City, Boston, Michigan, Washington DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Minneapolis and Vermont,” she captioned her carousel of images.

“So proud of ym fellow Americans! THIS GIVES ME HOPE!” another said.

Another pointed out Couric’s Virginia roots, saying she also would have been impressed by the turnout.

“You would have been super impressed by the 14k protestors n Richmond, VA!” they said.

Still, others slammed the protestors and Couric in the comments as well, writing that the protests claiming “no kings” were incorrect, and that those that didn’t like Trump should “get over it.”

“Thank you to the great President Trump, who is not a king and never will be. A king wouldn’t allow these types of protests…now maybe you should actually he protesting your democratic leaders who are STILL keeping the government closed!” one said.

“President Trump is still our President voted by majority…when Biden was president we accepted it the long four years and move on with our lives.. if you can’t accept the reality then be it,” another wrote.
