Last month, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple Martin, looked like she was her mother’s twin in a new GAP Studio campaign. Now, she’s showing the world she’s also got some things in common with her dad.
Over the weekend, Apple stepped on stage for a surprise performance at Cannery Hall in Nashville, the city where she currently resides as a student. The Vanderbilt senior and budding star joined her fellow classmates’ band, Jade Street, for a few songs, including the soon-to-be-released “Satellite,” out Tuesday, October 28.
For the performance, Apple wore a simple white tank, low-rise black miniskirt, and tall boots, while her tousled blonde hair and exposed bra straps gave her on-stage look the perfect rockstar edge. As she showed off her singing chops, members of the crowd took it all in, including none other than her father.
Over the years, Apple has actually collaborated with her dad’s band, Coldplay, on a number of occasions, collecting songwriting credits on tracks like “Let Somebody Go” and “feelslikeimfallinginlove.” However, her musical talent cannot solely be credited to her paternal side.
Paltrow, too, has given some stellar vocal performances—including, of course, her unforgettable Glee guest turn as Holly Holliday. And although she wasn’t present at the show, she demonstrated her support on Instagram with a heart-eye emoji.
It’s been a busy few months for Apple, whose recent GAP Studio campaign saw her starring alongside her mom for a shoot that celebrated the cross-generational appeal of the collection.
This campaign marked one of Apple’s first major modeling moments following her “society debut” at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris last year, as well as her addition to the Self-Portrait family as a brand ambassador. Whether she leans more into music, fashion, or a balance of the two, one thing is clear: as Apple finishes up her college degree, the world is truly her oyster.
