The Music City Bowl has a new title sponsor for 2025. Liberty Mutual agreed to a one-year deal with the bowl, which is played annually at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
The official announcement was made jointly by Mayor Freddie O’Connell and Music City Bowl President and CEO Scott Ramsey at Nissan Stadium on Oct. 21.
The bowl, which is in its 27th year, matches a school from the SEC and Big Ten. The 2025 Music City Bowl will be played on Dec. 30 (4:30 p.m., ESPN). This is the final year of the current conference tie-in deals with the Music City Bowl.
“We’re very appreciative of Liberty Mutual’s confidence in Nashville and their investment in the Music City Bowl,” Ramsey said. “This marks the start of an exciting new chapter for our bowl game … to further strengthen our presence on the college football postseason stage, while continuing to deliver an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.”
Liberty Mutual replaced TransPerfect as the title sponsor. TransPerfect became the title sponsor in 2019.
“Partnering with the Music City Bowl, the city of Nashville, the SEC, the Big Ten, and ESPN is a tremendous honor and opportunity for Liberty Mutual,” said Liberty Mutual chief marketing officer, Jenna Lebel. “It allows us to connect with fans and families in meaningful and memorable ways during a really special time of the year in the city of Nashville.”
Missouri defeated Iowa 27-24 in the 2024 Music City Bowl in front of a crowd of 43,375. The Music City Bowl, which was originally played at Vanderbilt, will move to the new Nissan Stadium in 2027.
Before the current conference affiliation the Music City Bowl had tie-ins with the ACC and Big East.
“Liberty Mutual’s investment in the Music City Bowl helps insure that one of Nashville’s signature events continues to have a solid foundation in an ever-changing college sports landscape,” O’Connell said. “I’m excited to see a company with a 100-year history as our new partner in a Nashville legacy. It’s a vote of confidence for what we’re doing as a city.”
