Martha Kalifatidis is crossing her fingers for a more easy-going pregnancy with her second child after her first pregnancy was riddled with severe sickness.
The Married At First Sight star took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce she was pregnant with her second child.
“Knocked up n’ knocked out. Will be back bigger (🤰🏻) and better soon… fingers crossed,” she captioned her post.
Her social media announcement featured a video of her young son, Lucius, hugging and kissing her growing belly as well as photos of a rainbow and other cute life updates.
It comes after her first pregnancy with Lucius was not easy.
Kalifatidis revealed in September 2022 that she didn’t think she would survive the first months of her pregnancy after becoming extremely sick.
Her partner Michael Brunelli, shared insight into the difficult time, posting distressing videos of his love crying out for help after being diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum — a severe type of nausea that causes extreme sickness — at five weeks.
Kalifatidis wasn’t able to eat, drink, and on some days couldn’t get out of bed to go to the toilet, resulting in her losing 10kg in just over a month.
Her sickness caused the couple to take a two-month break from social media.
Following her second pregnancy news, fellow Aussie influencers flooded the comments with messages of well wishes.
Olivia Molly Rogers, Tayla Broad, Gracie Piscopo and Steph Claire Smith all congratulated the happy couple on the “best news”.
Elyse Knowles and Jesinta Franklin both hoped Kalifatdis was feeling better this time around.
Kristin Fisher said: “Oh yeah team!!! Exciting!”
Olive Cooke said: “Looch as a big brother. Love you all so much.”
The couple, met on the 2019 series of the reality show and got engaged in December 2021.
Most recently, the young family was involved in a Cotton On Kids Christmas photoshoot showing off the brand’s new festive sleepwear.
