Warning: This contains spoilers for last night’s episode of Celebrity Traitors

Celebrity Traitors fans were treated to another classic episode last night (22 October) as the star-studded cast turned against each other in the castle.

The hit BBC show has remained as popular as ever for its first-ever celebrity edition, and we’ve already had some iconic moments, mainly from Celia Imrie farting during a challenge and later howling down a well.

Nearly all of the UK has united with office talk about the show, and it feels like the first time in a long time that everybody is tuning in at 9pm to watch the same thing, which feels like a distant memory since the introduction of streaming.

Although the gameplay has thrown up a lot of funny moments, it’s the traitors who have been laughing the most as seven faithful players have now left the show, with Niko Omilana, Tameka Empson, and Clare Balding all being banished, while Paloma Faith, Tom Daley, Ruth Codd and Charlotte Church were the unfortunate selections for murder.

Ruth in particular has hit out at the hierarchy in the castle after she was murdered, having been convinced that Jonathan Ross was a traitor, something the other faithfuls are seemingly oblivious to, despite his bold choice to kill off one of the only people suspecting him.

With numbers dwindling and the traitorous trio of Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross still going strong, the faithfuls were desperate to try and catch a traitor in last night’s episode, and things started to turn a little personal after a polite first few weeks.

After an exciting challenge which saw some of the celebrities trapped, with Alan’s suspension in a bear trap surely one of the best TV moments of recent memory, the players headed to the round table.

Unfortunately, the faithfuls seem to be struggling to agree on a particular target, and once again, the vote was split, mainly between Mark Bonnar, who is playing the game with the passion of a true Scotsman, and historian David Olusoga, who only seems to be suspected due to his intelligence and eloquence.

Now, the audience knows that both of these players are faithfuls, but it still made for incredible viewing as they received the same number of votes, before making a plea to the other celebrities.

But once again, the vote was split equally, meaning that for the first time in TV history, the banished player will be decided by chance.

The BBC do love a cliffhanger, so we have to wait until tonight’s episode to see which player gets the boot, but it’s another victory for the traitors, who will presumably be allowed to murder again in the evening, as they continue to dominate the game.

And fans of the show have called the round table moment ‘absolute cinema’ as they continue to enjoy the celebrity edition, even if it still does feel like it’s missing Bob Mortimer.

One fan said: “The banishment by fate twist has always been in the rules but I never thought we’d ever see it in action. Absolute cinema.”

Another commented: “Probably one of the best episodes of traitors I’ve ever seen, can’t wait for tomorrow.”

A third wrote: “The crashout next episode when they realise they’ve banished yet another faithful is going to be one for the ages.”

While it’s still unclear exactly how David and Mark’s fate will be decided, it’s sure to be another great watch when we sit down at 9pm tonight.

The Traitors returns Thursday, October 23, on BBC One at 9pm.
