Karrat Foundation announced the mainnet launch of Studio Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain built for entertainment and Web3 gaming. It provides creators and studios with a high-performance, developer-friendly infrastructure for access to democratized funding channels, tokenized IP and content rights, and transparent governance.
AMGI Studios, the official launch partner founded by industry veterans from Pixar, Disney, and ILM, will debut its flagship title My Pet Hooligan as the first project on Studio Chain. The game, currently in demo on Steam, is an Epic MegaGrant Recipient and officially selected for The Mix LA Comic Con 2025, will serve as a real-world example of how mainstream entertainment IPs can leverage Web3 infrastructure with a focus on accessibility and user experience.
Studio Chain was developed using Arbitrum Orbit and Caldera, and is powered by $KARRAT as its native gas token. Its focus is to support practical, entertainment use cases as its architecture enables integration with traditional media workflows while supporting on-chain ownership, interoperability, and token-based incentive systems. This could enable studios and creators to access democratized funding channels, tokenized IP and content rights, and transparent governance without traditional gatekeepers.
The chain uniquely introduces Resiliency Nodes (RNs), a staking-based mechanism that enables any and all community members to contribute to network security and uptime, regardless of the amount contributed. 20 nodes are going live with the launch, each activated by staking 5 million $KARRAT, targeting a total lockup of 100 million tokens. Participants will receive sequencer revenue shares and up to 20% APY in Year 1 reward pools, backed by 20 million $KARRAT contributed by The Karrat Foundation, alongside exposure to upcoming ecosystem tokens from AMGI Studios.
The RN model lowers the barrier of entry compared to traditional validator systems, replacing license-based access with open, pooled staking with the aim of aligning incentives across participants and promoting greater decentralization through community involvement.
Studio Chain is inviting partners to participate in the network’s growth by staking $KARRAT to further secure the network, collaborating on integrations, tooling, or media initiatives, and supporting community awareness as developer and creator access expands.
