Kim Kardashian has revealed that she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.
The reality show star and entrepreneur made the frightening announcement in a preview of the new season of “The Kardashians“ that was shared by The Today Show. The episode clip showed Kardashian, 45, getting an MRI and explaining her diagnosis to her family.
“There was a little aneurysm,” the mother of four said. “Last night, I was like ‘Why the [expletive] is this happening?’”
A brain aneurysm is the ballooning of a blood vessel in the brain, according to the Mayo Clinic. While most brain aneurysms aren’t serious, they can be life-threatening if they rupture.
Kardashian’s doctors initially told her that it was “just stress,” which aligned with the celebrity’s life recently. She has been extremely stressed because of her relationship with her ex-husband, the rapper known as Ye (formerly Kanye West). The couple divorced after seven years of marriage in 2021.
“I’m happy it’s over,” Kardashian said in the clip. “My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together.”
The couple share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7 and Psalm, 6. Kardashian said in a recent interview on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that West hadn’t seen their children in months and detailed the tough choice to end the marriage.
“I think that when you have kids, it’s definitely harder to leave then it is to stay,” she said.
West has been under controversy in recent years for making offensive comments and problematic behavior. In April, the rapper alluded to having an incestuous relationship with his male cousin when they were children. West opened up about co-parenting with Kardashian in a controversial interview in March.
“That was my fault. I didn’t want to have children with this person after the first two months of being with her. But that wasn’t God’s plan,” he said.
“I don’t got the name or likeness ownership, or at least 50-50, with my kids,” West added. “So how is it joint custody? My kids are celebrities and I don’t have a say.”
The stress from the situation also resulted in Kardashian’s Psoriasis coming back. She was first diagnosed with the skin condition in 2011, at the age of 30.
Season 7 of “The Kardashians” debuted Thursday and will run for 10 episodes, concluding on Dec. 25. Episodes are available to stream on Hulu after they air.
