Hayley Williams isn’t done releasing new solo music. The Paramore frontwoman has shared “Good Ol’ Days,” a soulful song that reminisces about the group’s After Laughter era, fueling more speculation about her personal life.
On the chorus of “Good Ol’ Days,” Williams sings, “‘Cause I miss you, miss kissing your face/ Blissin’ out to music we made/ Who knew, who knew my baby/ Who knew the hard times were the good ol’ days?”
This is a clear reference to After Laughter lead single “Hard Times,” which was released eight years ago in April 2017. Williams wrote that album in tandem with Paramore lead guitarist Taylor York. This summer, lyrics from her third solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, sparked rumors that the two had split.

Ego Death drew Fleetwood Mac comparisons, something Williams plays into on “Good Ol’ Days” with the line, “I’m not Stevie, I won’t hex ya.” Other notable lyrics include “We could sneak around like we’re on tour/ Even if that’s all you want me for, for/ You could call me Miss Paramore” and the hook, “‘Cause I miss you, miss kissing your face/ Blissin’ out to music we made.”
Of course, only Hayley Williams and perhaps Taylor York know what these lyrics truly mean, but they sure are provocative!
Williams debuted “Good Ol’ Days” live at Rolling Stone’s “Musicians on Musicians” event on Thursday night at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, performing alongside Bleachers. Watch a clip below.

In other Hayley Williams news, she recently reunited with David Byrne on their latest collaboration, “Open the Door,” which they performed together during a surprise appearance at his October 10th show at Radio City Music Hall.
And while promoting Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party on The New York Times’s Popcast podcast, Williams confirmed that her line about a “racist country singer” was a middle finger to Morgan Wallen.
