Famed animal conservationist, Robert Irwin, 21, is getting his flowers, literally, from none other than Wickedstar Jonathan Bailey.
In the October 21 episode of Dancing With the Stars Season 34, Irwin and his fellow DWTS contestants did a variety of dances to different songs from the hit musical Wicked. Irwin and his partner, professional dancer Witney Carson, showed off their moves with a jazz routine paired to “Dancing Through Life,” sung by the Wicked character, Prince Fiyero. Irwin was dressed as Fiyero for the number. As fans of Wicked are aware, Bailey stars as Fiyero in the films Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good, which premieres on November 21.
In an October 24 Instagram upload, Irwin shared a behind-the-scenes clip that showed him in the DWTS rehearsal studio with Carson. In the video, Carson presented Irwin with a massive bouquet of flowers.
“Oh my gosh. Whoa! Those are beautiful. Who are these from? Oh my goodness, that’s gorgeous. Wait, what?” said a confused, but pleased Irwin.
After Carson suggested she wasn’t sure who gave Irwin the flowers, he proceeded to open the card attached to the bouquet.
“It’s from Jonathan Bailey!” revealed Irwin to his DWTS partner.
He then shared what Bailey wrote in the card to Carson.
“You are the Shiz, Robert. You’ve done all the Fiyeros proud. Cheering you on from afar. Big love, JB,” read Irwin.
An enthusiastic Irwin then shared how much the flowers meant to him.
“This has made my day! Thank you so much, Jonathan!” said Irwin in the Instagram video.
“Thank you so much @jbayleaf What a cool surprise, it was an honour to play Fiyero for the night!” read the caption of Irwin’s post.

While speaking to TooFab right after filming DWTS‘s Wicked-themed episode, Irwin shared that he has a great appreciation for the musical and Bailey. He told the publication that he “love[s] Wicked.”
“It’s such an amazing film. I’ve always loved it. Back home in Australia, we went and, like, rented out the whole theater to watch it when it came out for my birthday, actually, for my 21st. I just love it. So, it was a dream come true,” said Irwin to TooFab.
Irwin also shared that he “absolutely love[s]” Bailey for both his acting career and his charity work.
“He’s an incredible performer, incredible human being. The thing about Jonathan Bailey that I love is that he also really has that charitable aspect as well. He’s a very philanthropic individual and does a lot for humanitarian causes,” said Irwin in the October 21 TooFab interview.
