Princess Diana’s sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, has been “seriously injured” after a horseback riding accident, according to reports. The 70-year-old, who is the aunt of Prince William and Prince Harry, was hospitalized following a “bad fall,” her brother Earl Spencer revealed.
Speaking on the Rosebud podcast, the 61-year-old Earl said his sister has been “quite a handful” as a patient during her extended hospital stay. “Sarah, who is nearly a decade older than me, who was always in trouble, she’s quite punchy,” he shared.
“She’s still riding, and she’s had a really bad fall in the last month and has been in hospital for a long time. And I think, [she] was quite a handful as a patient, because the lead doctor said to my brother-in-law. She’s quite a character, isn’t she?”
Lady Sarah famously dated King Charles before introducing him to her younger sister, the late Princess of Wales.
Earl Spencer contrasted Lady Sarah’s fiery personality with that of his other sister, Lady Jane Fellowes, 68, describing her as the “complete opposite” and “really sweet and really funny.”
While the Mail reported that Lady Sarah was “seriously injured,” Lord Spencer did not provide specific details about the nature of her injuries.
