Mugen Rao, Preethi Asrani and Tanya Hope are set to headline Niram , an upcoming suspense thriller directed by debutant Krishna Balaram. “The story unfolds against the backdrop of a hospital and a college campus, and follows a young man entangled in a criminal case,” shares the director.Elaborating on the title, he shares, “ Niram reflects the changing colours of human nature, much like a chameleon. The story begins with a conflict between the characters — Mugen, who plays a doctor, Preethi, a college student, and Tanya, the daughter of a doctor and a multi-millionaire. The film explores why people change their behaviour and what drives these shifting shades within The director informs that the team has used a technique called bleach bypass, “a film development process that sets a specific tone and mood for the scenes”. “I believe this hasn’t been explored much in Tamil cinema. This technique brings out the raw emotions of the story in a very natural way.”The film’s music will be scored by D Imman.
