Meghan Markle gave a one word response when she was asked about her first meeting with Kate Middleton.
Despite the ongoing friction between Prince Harry and his wife and the Royals in the UK it seems that when she first met the Princess of Wales, 43, Meghan had very little to say about the experience, but what she did say was positive.
While things very rapidly fell apart in her relationship with her sister-in-law, Meghan, 44, was originally said to be enamoured with her.
Royal author Tom Quinn penned in his book Yes, Ma’am: The Secret Life Of Royal Servants, where he gathered details from several interviews with royal staff and servants to give a glimpse of “behind palace doors,” how tensions ran high between the Duchess of Sussex and Kate just before Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding in 2018.
An insider revealed they were both let “crying their eyes out” after the altercation.
Harry then continued on the same trajectory as he added, “Amazing, as has William as well, you know, fantastic support. The whole family have come together and have given a huge amount of support.”
While the couple weren’t entirely forthcoming at that time, Harry and Meghan have both admitted to the rocky relationships they shared with their family members, with the duchess even detailing the moment mentioned in the book.
During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, the actress revealed Kate had been upset about something but had later made amends by apologizing and giving her flowers.
“It wasn’t a confrontation,” Meghan shared. “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that, because she apologized.”
“What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do but that happened to me.”
