From organ recitals to indie rock costume parties, every music lover can find an event to celebrate the spookiest week of the year. Check out a roundup of some of the concerts and music events happening in Gainesville.

Monday, Oct. 27

MUB 101: UF Percussion Ensemble & Sunshine Steelers Fall Concert at 7:20 p.m.

The UF percussion ensemble and the Sunshine Steelers, UF’s very own steel drum ensemble, play selections from composers Ravel and Maslanka. 

Tuesday, Oct. 28

MUB 101: Lauren Hodges at 7:20 p.m.

Violist Lauren Hodges presents her faculty recital, performing pieces by composers Brahms and Bach.

Heartwood Soundstage: Alberto Lombardi with Taylor Roberts at 7 p.m.

The “Italian Fingerstyle Master” comes to Gainesville, joined by guitarist Taylor Roberts.

Wednesday, Oct. 29

MUB 101: UF Low Brass Hal-LOW-ween Concert at 7:20 p.m.

UF’s Low Brass studio performs its annual Halloween concert. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. 

Reitz Union North Lawn: Live from the Lawn at 5 p.m.

Gainesville favorites Noise Next Door, Sigs Inside, Dogs Can Wear Hats, Alex Willow and Paul’s Ribs play a free show in front of the Reitz Student Union, accompanied by activities and food. 

Thursday, Oct. 30

MUB 101: Bass Studio Recital at 5:10 p.m.

UF’s Bass Studio, led by Alex Pershounin, performs its studio recital. 

Loosey’s: Rustler, Deadharrie and Hey! TV Boy! at 8 p.m.

This weekly free indie concert features “shoegaze, twangy indie rock and pop punk.” Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes to the event. 

Friday, Oct. 31

University Auditorium: UF Pipe Organ Centennial: Annual Halloween Spooktacular at 7:20 p.m.

This spooky concert featuring Scott Ziegler is part of celebrations honoring the 100th anniversary of the UF pipe organ’s installation.

The Wooly: The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 8 p.m.

The annual fall run of the show features a live shadowcast from local actors to accompany the cult-classic movie. 

Heartwood Soundstage: Indie Live Halloween Party at 7 p.m.

The Jins, Cheerleader Roadkill and Buko Boys put together a spooky show to celebrate Halloween. Audience members are encouraged to wear costumes.

The Wooly: Fright Night at 10 p.m.

This spooky movie soundtrack dance party with DJ Cam features a costume contest. 

The Ox: Rat-O-Ween at 7 p.m.

Heavy metal bands gather for a night of ghoulish fun. Highlights include Gainesville horror punk band Horror Fiend’s very first performance, and Pensacola out-of-towners Infernem. 

The Lynx: Literary Monsters at 7 p.m.

DJs Jordie Ortiz and Bliss Music set the stage for a night of literary horror, featuring tarot readings, food and a costume contest. 

The Atlantic: Halloween 2025 at 9 p.m.

Dunce Party sets the scene for a night of frightening fun at this downtown venue. 

Saturday, Nov. 1

Heartwood Soundstage: West 22nd with Stellus at 7 p.m.

Austin-based “carousel rock” band West 22nd comes to Gainesville with the support of indie Miami natives Stellus on “the nowhere to be” tour. 

The Atlantic: Grave Filth, Doomsday Profit and Seeker at 8 p.m.

Gainesville metal bands Grave Filth and Seeker are joined by North Carolina’s Doomsday Profit. 

The Wooly: Nature Calls at 6 p.m.

SPLAT magazine and Top Secret Events present a nature photography and art show benefitting the Friend of Paynes Prairie. The show will feature musical accompaniment from Ill Star, Loris, Kyle Keller and DJ Wax Atom. 

The Ox: Post, Dude, Chill, Ch3rrystardust and The Tilt at 8 p.m.

This show features a blend of acoustic and electric acts, leaving something for anyone to enjoy. 

Sunday, Nov. 2

The Atlantic: Suicide Forest, Vorn, Apex and The Pine Drape at 8 p.m.

This collection of metal bands brings a dark sound to Gainesville’s Halloween celebrations. 

Heartwood Soundstage: Jammy Buffet at 7 p.m.

This Colorado–Tennessee jam band plays something for every parrothead, from Jimmy Buffet’s greatest hits to his deepest cuts.
