Tom Cruise Reportedly Struggling To Come To Terms With ‘The Idea’ Of Ana de Armas Not Wanting Him

Tom Cruise is reportedly still reeling from his split with Ana de Armas, with a source saying he “can’t wrap his head around” the fact that she didn’t want him.

Although they never publicly confirmed their relationship, Cruise reportedly planned to make their romance official, but had to let it go after realizing the “spark had gone.”

Ana de Armas, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to miss Tom Cruise, as she’s been seen out and about since their split, including traveling with friends for Bad Bunny‘s concert.

Tom Cruise And Ana de Armas’ Brief Romance

Cruise is said to have been taken aback when his rumored flame, de Armas, declined to pursue a romantic relationship with him, despite months of mounting speculation about the pair.

The “Top Gun” actor was first linked to de Armas in February, after which they went public over the summer, when they were photographed holding hands during a Vermont holiday in July.

The former couple was seen on several outings prior to then, including a stroll through a London park and several helicopter trips, but the “Ballerina” actress insisted they were just working together at the time.

Reports suggest they’ve now gone their separate ways, but Cruise has remained stunned that de Armas didn’t see him the way he saw her, and has spiralled into a “meltdown” over it, with a source saying he’s telling people he doesn’t think she measures up to his standard.

“Tom’s telling people Ana wasn’t up to his standards and he’s the one who pulled the plug,” the insider told the National Enquirer, adding that the actor now says he’s “looking for someone with more charisma and life experience.”

The Actor Was Reportedly Left Puzzled By Ana de Armas’ Rejection

When they were first rumored to be dating, the “Mission: Impossible” star was said to be very vocal about how adorable she is, and also praised her for her acting chops, saying her “ability is incredible” and that she’s “just a great actress.”

Things seem to have changed now, as weeks have passed since he last commented on anything related to the 37-year-old actress, and they haven’t been seen together.

“It’s a complete 180 in terms of how he was talking about her just a few weeks ago, when she could do no wrong and this ultimate dream gal who walked on water,” the source told the publication.

“Truth is, Tom didn’t see this coming, and he can’t wrap his head around the idea that Ana didn’t want him as a life partner,” they added.

According to the news outlet, Cruise was planning to propose not too long before their relationship ended, which left him “humiliated” and forced him to “face his big fear that he’s somehow undatable.”

Tom Cruise And Ana de Armas To Remain ‘Friends’

Cruise and de Armas reportedly broke off their relationship after realizing they’re better off as friends.

According to People Magazine, a source close to the pair said that the 63-year-old actor will remain “dear friend and mentor” to her, while she “very much enjoys spending time with him.”

“She’s single, though, and has been for a while,” the insider noted. “She stays in touch with Tom, and they still have an upcoming movie project that she’s looking forward to.”

Another source explained that they “had a good time” while together, but “their time as a couple has run its course.”

The ‘Spark Had Gone Between’ The Duo

The insider explained that de Armas and Cruise are “going to remain good friends, but they aren’t dating anymore.”

They added that the former couple called time on their relationship after realizing they “weren’t going to go the distance and that they are better off as mates.”

“The spark had gone between them, but they still love each other’s company and they’ve both been really adult about it,” the source added.

Ana de Armas Is ‘Enjoying Her Independence’

Meanwhile, de Armas doesn’t seem to be missing the “Jack Reacher” actor, as her activities following their breakup don’t suggest she’s taking a pause at all.

Back in September, she took to social media to share a clip of her enjoying herself with pals as they sang and danced to Bad Bunny’s concert performance in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She also hit the gym in L.A. a few weeks later, as sources say she’s “enjoying her independence.”

“Ana’s been having the time of her life,” an insider told NE. “She went to Puerto Rico with a group of her friends to see Bad Bunny, and she’s been back in L.A. and very social.”

“It’s clear she’s enjoying her independence. Not having Tom around, micromanaging everything, has got to feel very freeing. Her friends have all noticed how happy she looks lately, and so has Tom,” they said.
