Will Trent Season 4’s Release Date May Be Sooner Than Fans Think

Fans of ABC’s police procedural drama Will Trent have much to rejoice about, as the network has officially announced the release date for Season 4 of the series. In its latest briefing, ABC confirmed the premiere schedules for 16 TV shows, including the fourth installment in the Ramón Rodríguez-led series.

According to ABC’s press release, Season 4 of Will Trent has received a release date for January 6, 2026. As such, the first episode of the fourth season of the crime drama will share its release date with High Potential Season 2’s midseason premiere, as well as The Rookie Season 8 premiere. Will Trent Season 4 will debut on ABC at 8 PM ET, shortly followed by High Potential and The Rookie’s new episodes at 9 PM ET and 10 PM ET, respectively.

The release date for Will Trent Season 4 sits in line with the premiere schedules of its predecessors, all of which have come out in the midseason. The series made its small-screen debut on January 3, 2023, with its second season airing on a slightly delayed release date of February 20, 2024. Nevertheless, the show returned to normalcy with its third season, whose first episode premiered on ABC on January 7, 2025.

The confirmed release schedule for Will Trent Season 4 should come as a huge sigh of relief for fans of the show, who have been waiting for months for an update after the way Season 3 left the narrative. The most recent season finale ended with Michael Ormewood suffering from a seizure and Amanda Wagner slipping into a comatose state due to a bullet wound sustained following a terrorist attack. As such, it remains unclear as to how the storylines for the two characters will unfold next season.
