- Beatport and and UK-based charity Youth Music have joined forces on a new fundraising campaign intended to support emerging musicians.
The fundraising scheme will allot £15,000 each to four UK-based organisations serving young DJs and producers. In addition to funding, Beatport will also provide editorial and marketing support to grant recipients to help them grow their audiences. Applications for the scheme are open now, and will remain so through Friday, November 21st.
The new grant is part of the Rescue The Roots campaign Youth Music launched back in March, which is raising money to support grassroots venues and artists. Youth Music has pledged to match every pound raised up to £1 million.
“Electronic music has always been about community, creativity, and breaking down barriers,” Sofia Ilyas, Beatport’s Chief Community Officer, shared in a statement. “By partnering with Youth Music, we’re not only investing in the future of the scene, but also making sure that young people, no matter where they come from, have a fair chance to be seen and heard.”
