Demi Lovato shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram, highlighting Poot’s recreation.
“Happy Halloween and happy one week of intd!!!” the Camp Rock actress captioned the post. “Been so locked in this era thought i’d let pootvato out.”
Numerous celebrities reacted to Demi Lovato’s Poot recreation. Katy Perry commented, “You take the crown my dear. Also, my fav song is Let You Go.” Meanwhile, Charli XCX wrote, “omg obsessed with you.”
Superman star Sara Sampaio claimed she had to do a “double take” to figure out who the person in the post was who resembled Lovato. “Hahahaha, this is amazing!!!!!!” She added.

Poot’s origins lie in a 2015 Tumblr meme. A fan took an overexposed photo of Lovato, editing the picture to make her head appear wider. A Tumblr user named Cstcrpt shared the photo in a now-deleted post. In the post, the user claimed that Poot was Lovato’s twin sister, who was locked in a basement for much of her life. They added that the edited picture of Lovato was from Poot’s first time in the outside world. One week earlier, fellow user Versaceslut posted a crude doodle of Lovato, based on the heavily edited image.
Poot Lovato eventually garnered meme status in October. The meme’s popularity also birthed a Wattpad fan fiction called The Secret Life of Poot Lovato, which has received 762k reads and 22.6k votes.
