Andrew Mountbatten Windsor once had “40 prostitutes” delivered to his Thailand hotel, according to new claims from a historian.
The disgraced royal embarked on a two-week vacation to the Southeast Asian country after being made Trade Envoy, royal expert Andrew Lownie told Daily Mail correspondent Sarah Vine on Wednesday’s episode of the Deep Dive podcast.
“In 2001, he is 41, he’s having his midlife crisis and he basically starts chasing lots and lots of women,” the author of the unauthorised biography, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, alleged.
“He uses the excuse of his role as Trade Envoy, paid for by the taxpayer, to go off on these trips, but he always puts in two weeks of ‘private time.’ So, we pay for his holiday and then he goes off and does things.”
Lownie then recalled “a famous trip to Thailand” to celebrate King Rama IX’s birthday, Page Six reports. The former King of Thailand died in 2016.

“Andrew is representing his country and insists on staying in a five-star hotel rather than the embassy, which he always did,” he claimed, noting that Andrew allegedly had “40 prostitutes brought in the space of four days … just for him.”
“This was all enabled by diplomats and others,” the royal expert further alleged.
Lownie also claimed that multiple sources — including a Reuters correspondent and a member of the Thai royal family — had verified the prostitution allegations.
The latest claims come just one day after the disgraced royal — who was formerly referred to as Prince Andrew — was stripped of his “prince” title amid the scandal over his ties to late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”
The statement continued, “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathise
s have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
The title removal — which went into effect immediately and was a consequence of “serious lapses of Judgement” — applied to Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and “His Royal Highness.”
He now goes by Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Andrew’s fall from grace has also dragged down his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, whom he divorced in 1996. As of October 30, she will no longer hold the Duchess of York title.
Ferguson was also forced out of Royal Lodge, where she and Andrew lived together even after their split. Although her ex will now be living in a residence at a private estate, Ferguson will have to find her own housing.
Meanwhile, their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, will keep their titles.
Earlier this month, Andrew agreed that “continued accusations” against him and his connection to Epstein “distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal family.”
“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life,” he shared in a statement.
“With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.”
Andrew’s tarnished reputation stemmed from his connection with Epstein, who was charged with sex trafficking ahead of his death. One of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre, accused Andrew of sexual assault, suing him in 2021.
Although Andrew has always maintained his innocence, they settled out of court the following year.
Ms Guiffre’s allegations have resurfaced after the recent release of her posthumous memoir, Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice. She died by suicide in April at age 41.
