MTV is pulling the plug on its long-running viral video show “Ridiculousness” after 14 years and a staggering 46 seasons on air. The network has confirmed that the current season will be the show’s last, bringing an end to a series that has produced nearly 1,700 episodes.

The cancellation comes as part of a broader strategic shift for MTV. According to a source who spoke with Variety, the network plans to pivot toward “a more curated slate of content that embraces its experimental DNA.”

TMZ reports that insiders describe network leadership as focused on “reimagining MTV for the future” by exploring new voices and programming formats.

“Ridiculousness,” which premiered in August 2011, featured host Rob Dyrdek alongside co-hosts Sterling “Steelo” Brim and Chanel West Coast providing humorous commentary on viral internet videos. The show’s format also incorporated celebrity guests. West Coast departed the show in 2023, with Lauren “Lolo” Wood stepping in as her replacement, Parade noted.

While the show is ending its production run, fans will still have access to content for years to come.

TMZ reports that the cast and crew learned this week that the current season would be their last, but previously recorded episodes are scheduled to continue airing into 2026. Additionally, reruns will remain in MTV’s programming lineup and will be available for streaming on Paramount+, according to Parade.
