VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Valley City State University music and Valley City High School music are joining forces for a Fall Instrumental Concert on Friday, Nov. 7, at the VCSU Larry J. Robinson Center for the Arts.
The VCSU Concert Band and VCHS Concert Band will both perform at the event, which begins at 7:30 p.m. inside the main performance hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
The night’s concert is thematic and titled “Elements”. VCSU’s Concert Band, under the direction of Jerrold Heide, will play four selections. The VCHS Concert Band, directed by VCSU alum Tedi Dimmer ’24, will perform three selections.

VCHS Concert Band: “Jackson Lake Overture,” Mark Williams; “By Dawn’s Early Light,” David Shaffer; and “A River’s Fury!,”James Swearingen
VCSU Concert Band: “Celebration Fanfare,” Bruce Healey; “Undertow,” John Mackey; “Wind,” Darren Jenkins; and “Across the Northern Sky,” Michael Sweeney
