Leonardo DiCaprio, 50, and Billy Zane, 59, who played romantic rivals Jack Dawson and Cal Hockley in Titanic, reunited at the 2025 LACMA ART+Film Gala in Los Angeles on Nov. 1. The reunion comes nearly 30 years after their Oscar-winning 1998 film was released.
“Great night with friends @lacma Art + Film Gala,” Zane wrote on Instagram beside a carousel of photos showing him beaming with his old costar, Doja Cat performing at the event, and a smartphone with the final Dodgers game of the World Series (which they went on to win) playing on a table. “Better add Sports to that title after [Dodgers] fine performance art,” the Zoolander actor teased.

Fans were overjoyed to see the Titanic costars together. “Finally, Cal and Jack met again,” said one fan, with another agreeing, “Good to see both Cal Hockley and Jack Dawson together.” A third teased, “Glad to see they made up,” and a fourth added, “Jesus, for a moment there I thought you were on the Titanic.”
Cal Hockley played the wealthy, arrogant fiancé of Rose DeWitt Bukater (played by Kate Winslet), who falls in love with the lower-class artist Jack Dawson, making Cal the protagonist’s love rival and a major source of conflict in the film. Still, some viewers preferred Cal. “I hated Titanic cuz I would have pushed Jack overboard to get to Hockley,” said one fan.
Zane, also famous for his roles in Back to the Future, The Phantom, and Twin Peaks, looked sharp on the LACMA red carpet, rocking a classy black tux with patent leather shoes, a skinny tie, and a pair of Clark Kent-inspired glasses. DiCaprio seemingly skipped the red carpet for the major event, but appeared to be wearing a classic tuxedo with a bowtie and looking very reminiscent of his 2013 Great Gatsby role in Zane’s photo.
The power duo also reunited on the red carpet a couple of months prior, which Zane talked about on TODAY on Sept. 17, 2025. “That was a fun reunion,” he said while promoting his new film, Waltzing With Brando. “He just gets better. It’s so good to see his work. And reuniting with him on the red carpet at the [Grauman’s Chinese Theater]… Sure, we’ve seen each other plenty since the film, but not since, I think, our premiere had we spent time in front of that building.”
