Kim Kardashian will never forget her longtime friend Lindsay May.
“A year without you. The world paused on Nov 2nd and I know a part of the lifers went with you,” Kardashian, 45, wrote via Instagram on Monday, November 3. “Time feels strange without you here. We all see you in purple skies and butterflies. I love you forever, my lifer 💜🦋.”
When honoring her childhood friend — who died in November 2024 after a cancer diagnosis — The Kardashians star shared several special throwback photos with May.
Some memories included photobooth snaps of the duo at one of Psalm West’s birthday parties. Another memory was a photo of May’s headstone, which features an epitaph reading, “Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Love, love, love.” (Kardashian shares son Psalm, 6, along with North, 12, Saint, 9, and Chicago, 7, with ex-husband Kanye West.)
Soon after posting, Kim received support in the comments section from friends, including Kyle Richards, Kate Hudson and sister Kourtney Kardashian. Many, like Khloe Kardashian, commented with purple heart emojis and butterfly emojis.
Back in June, Kim announced that her longtime friend had died after a battle with cancer.
At the time, the SKIMS founder shared that their mutual friend Simone Harouche started a fundraiser selling Citizens of Humanity jeans called “The Linz” to raise money for research on the disease.

A portion of sales from every pair of “The Lindz” will go to the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (NETRF) to support its mission of funding critical research and advancing more effective treatments and a cure.
May was part of a friend group that Kim dubbed her “lifers.” Blended Strategy Group CEO Allison Statter, Roe Caviar founder Sarah Meyer Michaelson, yoga teacher Ashley Kassan and Henry Winkler‘s daughter, Zoe Winkler, were also members of the tight circle.
Their bond was often captured on both The Kardashians and Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
In July, Kardashian paid tribute to May on her heavenly birthday. While she admitted to waiting months to post something “mostly because I couldn’t find the right words,” the businesswoman said she was able to pull her thoughts together and share several heartfelt memories of her close friend.

“Nothing really captures how quiet and empty our lifers chat feels without you in it,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I know you’d probably roll your eyes at me posting anything — especially since you didn’t really even have social media — but I couldn’t go through this lake trip without feeling you everywhere, and I needed to share it.”
Despite all the grief May’s friends were — and are — feeling, Kardashian expressed how “grateful” she was to have great memories that started when everyone was just a kid.
“I feel so grateful for all the memories we made since we were kids. We felt your absence this year in every sunset, every laugh, every quiet moment,” she concluded. “We miss you so f***ing much, Lindz. Our world is not the same without you. I guess that’s why I hold onto this lake tradition so tightly. We’ll always have the lake — and in that, we’ll always have a piece of you.”
