Everyone has been talking about the former Prince Andrew ever since it was announced that he would be stripped not just of his titles but also of the honorific of Prince. For some, it’s because it feels like too little too late. For others, it’s long overdue justice. Either way, everyone has opinions on what happened, including US President Donald Trump.
Trump was asked about Andrew no longer being known as prince of His Royal Highness while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday, November 2nd, and said, “I feel very badly,” adding, “It’s a terrible thing that’s happened to the family. That’s been a tragic situation, and it’s too bad. I mean, I feel badly for the family.”

The President did not comment on Epstein’s alleged victims or the scandal that caused Andrew to lose his titles. Trump himself has been mentioned in connection to Epstein in the United States, though the President has strongly denied any reports about a possible close relationship between him and Epstein.
Buckingham Palace announced on October 30th that the former prince would now be called Andrew Mountbatten Windsor as part of the continued fallout over Andrew’s friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
Prince Andrew’s connections to Epstein have been under renewed scrutiny lately after a book by Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre titled Nobody’s Girl detailed the abuse and Andrew’s role in it. This came on the heels of emails published on the Mail on Sunday that revealed Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, apologized to Epstein weeks after publicly disowning him, back in 2011.

All of this comes after recent reports about Melania Trump from the book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie. Or, at least, allegations that featured in the first version of the book, as the book has since been edited to remove the claims. The book doesn’t describe any type of particular link between Andrew and Melania, other than suggesting the two ran in Epstein’s circles around the same time.
Donald and Melania Trump’s story about how they met remains consistent: the two were introduced by Paolo Zampolli, a modeling agent, at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998. Lownie, however, had claimed in the book that Epstein introduced the President and the first lady. And he has not been the first to report on this.
A spokesperson for HarperCollins UK said: “We can confirm that several passages from Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie have been removed in consultation with the author. Entitled is published in the UK by HarperCollins. In the US, the book is self-published by Mr Lownie.”
